What majors are offered in the College of Applied Technologies?

Certificates, Diplomas, Associate Degrees, and Bachelor Degrees are awarded in Automotive, Diesel, High Performance Motorsports, Agricultural Equipment, Robotics & Automation, Alternate Fuels, HVAC/R and Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). For a complete listing of Degree Programs, click here.

How are classes taught?

Classes are taught in 6-week sessions with no more than 20 students per technical class. Automotive Technology Supervision is a bachelor degree program and is taught on the 10-week quarter schedule for your junior and senior years.

Do I need my own tools?

No, the only tools that you need to purchase is a DMM (digital multimeter) and a Dial Indicator, which can be purchased at Barnes & Noble, the University Bookstore, or from our on-campus Snap-On tool representative. The College of Applied Technologies furnishes all the hand and specialty tools that you’ll need in class.

Can I live on campus?

The University of Northwestern Ohio can house up to 1600 students on campus. Dorms communities are all within walking distance of your classes and are semi-furnished. For more information on Housing, click here.

What are class times?

The University of Northwestern Ohio offers four different sessions per day Monday through Thursday:

Mornings: 7:30 am - 12:30 pm

Afternoons: 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Evenings: 6:30 pm - 11:30 pm

Early Mornings (Tues – Thurs): 12:00 am - 6:30 am.

When can I start taking classes?

The University of Northwestern Ohio begins a new session every 6 weeks. June, August, and October are the most popular session start dates.

Can I purchase my tools through the University?

Yes, University students can purchase Snap-On tools at up to a 55% discount.

What is there to do near campus?

There is a nearby movie complex, bowling alley, many restaurants, and several churches. The campus is located close to one of the county's major shopping area with a shopping mall, strip malls, and retail and discount stores nearby. There are also a host of activities put on year round as part of our Campus Life department.

Is there parking on campus?

Yes, there is adequate parking for you to have one vehicle on campus. Parking is free.

What is Safety Services?

The University maintains a staff of trained professional safety service personnel for our students' protection and safety. These professionals are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
