Our Associate and Diploma programs in HVAC/R Technology will provide the foundation for your career. Most of your training will be hands-on utilizing HVAC/R training aids, Novar digital controls, Simutech computer-generated simulation programs, and the latest technology in furnaces, air conditioners, and commercial refrigeration units. Plus you’ll have the chance to work with the local Habitat for Humanity organization installing residential heating and cooling systems.
The University’s HVAC/R program has been fully accredited by ACCE; The American Council for Construction Education. The HVAC/R program has also been granted a 6-year HVAC Excellence Accreditation. As a student, you can gain certifications in section 608 and 609 of the EPA Refrigerant Handling Requirements and take the industry competency exams of the Air Conditioning Refrigeration Institute. This gives graduates a certification the employers are looking for.
The HVAC/R field is one of the fastest growing job markets in the field today. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the average annual wage of an HVAC/R Technician is $50,160! Annual earnings range between $36,520 and $76,230 per year depending on your job title and location of employment. Also according to the BLS, there is expected to be a 15% growth in the job market through 2026 with at least 49,000 new positions available for graduating technicians in the coming years.
