Delays & Cancellations Policy

UNIVERSITY DELAYS & CANCELLATIONS

When conditions warrant, the University of Northwestern Ohio may delay or cancel classes.  The University attempts to publish any delay or cancellation announcements by 7 a.m. for day classes and by 4 p.m. for evening classes.  For announcements, register for Racer Alerts, check Campus Status on the UNOH website, or call the voice mailbox, 419-998-9689.

In the event of a weather delay or cancellation, the University of Northwestern Ohio will operate on a modified schedule to ensure the safety of students, faculty, and staff while maintaining academic continuity. Any missed class time resulting from a delay or cancellation will be made up through virtual instruction.

Weather 2-Hour Delay Procedures

  • All classes will begin at 10:00 a.m. on weather delay days.
  • Students and instructors should report directly to their regularly scheduled class at 10:00 a.m.
  • Classes will proceed with their normal course times from that point forward.
  • All class time missed prior to the 10:00 a.m. start will be made up virtually.

Weather Cancellation Procedures

  • In the event of a full cancellation, no in-person classes will be held.
  • All scheduled class sessions will be conducted virtually for that day.
  • Instructors will communicate the plan for virtual instruction to students via RacersOnline announcements prior to or on the day of cancellation.
