Military Transcripts & CLEP Credits

At the University of Northwestern Ohio, we value your experience. We are proud to review your military training and prior education to determine whether you may qualify for transfer credits toward your degree.

UNOH accepts Joint Service Transcripts (JST) and CCAF credits. We follow the American Council of Education (ACE) guidelines to award credit for military coursework, hands-on experience, and testing programs like CLEP and DANTES.

Prior Credit Review Process

To start your evaluation, log in to your student portal at my.unoh.edu and complete the Military Prior Credit Review eForm under “Forms” in your Self-Service Menu. Please ensure this is submitted by the end of your first term.

Order Your Official Transcripts:

  • Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, & National Guard: jst.doded.mil
  • Air Force (USAF): Air University Registrar
  • Follow other Higher Education Institution transcript request requirements

Note: If you order a JST before officially applying to UNOH, please notify us at militaryrelations@unoh.edu.

College-Level Examination Program (CLEP)

The College Board’s College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) has been the most widely trusted credit-by-examination program for over 40 years, accepted by 2,900 colleges and universities and administered in more than 1,800 test centers. This rigorous program allows students from a wide range of ages and backgrounds to demonstrate their mastery of introductory college-level material and earn college credit. Students can earn credit for what they already know by getting qualifying scores on any of the 33 examinations.
