Tips

  1. Airports located close to Lima are Dayton (1 hour and 20 minutes away), Columbus (2 hours away) and Fort Wayne (1 hour and 15 minutes).
  2. Carry immigration documents/travel itinerary with you in your hand luggage (passport, visa, Form I-20, UNOH acceptance letter, evidence of financial support and driver's license). Do not check them in your baggage.
  3. Consider the season that you are arriving into the US; it is important to bring both lightweight and heavyweight clothing.
  4. Make a budget for your trip. Prepare to pay for food while traveling.
  5. Research the airports you will be traveling through and be prepared for any additional tax fees.
  6. If you are arriving to the United States from Europe, remember to carry on a special electrical outlet adapter that has blade-like prongs. The voltage used in the United States is 110V.
  7. If you have a medical condition that required any prescription medication; carry a letter from your physician describing the medical condition with the generic names of prescribed drugs.
  8. Medical and Dental insurance is recommended. The university does not provide insurance for students.
