International Students

International Graduates at UNOH
Forty Nine countries are represented at UNOH, which creates a diverse living and learning environment. The university offers a great opportunity to learn about American culture while studying in the U.S. To be considered eligible for admission, the students must meet the following requirements:
  • Online Application for the University of Northwestern Ohio. $20 U.S. will be collected at the time of application.
  • Official transcripts from international schools (high school and/or college) must be submitted through InCred or WES. Transcripts from schools located in the United States must be sent by the issuing institution and bear the appropriate official signatures, graduation/completion date, the seal of the institution that issues it, and school contact information for verification.
  • If the transcript is not in English, a certified English translation of transcripts must be submitted as well.
  • All transcripts and grade reports issued by institutions outside of the United States must be evaluated. We recommend using World Education Services or InCred (for student-athletes). It is the applicant’s responsibility to contact one of the evaluating companies and provide the necessary documentation and fees.
  • If English is not the first language, proof of English proficiency is required.
    • TOEFL- Minimum TOEFL iBT score of 61; a minimum CBT score of 173
    • IELTS- Minimum IELTS score of 6.0
    • Duolingo Score of 100

Transfer Student

  • ACT English Score of 18 or higher
  • SAT writing and language test score of 26 or higher
  • Completing all four years in high school within the U.S.
  • Transfer from an regionally accredited U.S. institution of higher education with at least 30 semester/ 45 quarter credit hours and 2.00 accumulative GPA
  • SAT or ACT test (if taken), the university would like to have an official or scanned copy. Make sure that your name is visible on the document.

To be admitted to receive the I-20, please submit the following:

  1. I-20 Application Packet
  2. All international students are required to provide a financial statement by United States government guidelines. Sponsors can be anyone that has legal rights over you or someone that financially supports you. You can list more than one sponsor; all sponsors will need to sign a Sponsor’s Affidavit of Financial Support and provide financial statements in English showing sufficient funds in USD within the last 3 months. A financial statement should be in the form of bank statement showing liquid assets.
  3. Copy of passport.
  4. Copy of visa and all previous I-20s.
