Student Information and Guidelines

The health, safety, and well-being of our students, faculty, staff and the Lima/Allen County community is our top priority. The following safety precautions will be in effect for all students, faculty, staff, and guests while on the UNOH Campus.
  • Read and accept the Acknowledgement of Safety and Health Procedures Related to Coronavirus/COVID-19 policy on the MyUNOH Portal.
  • Bring all needed learning materials with you which may include: textbooks, writing utensils, notepads, personal computer or laptop, dial indicator, digital multimeter, and face coverings.
  • Students, faculty and staff should self-screen daily before arriving to campus or entering any campus building. If any of the following symptoms are present, please stay home and contact your healthcare provider for guidance and notify your instructor or supervisor.
    • Cough, chills, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, sore throat, congestion, repeated shaking with chills, headache, muscle pain, loss of taste or smell, runny nose, extreme fatigue, feeling feverish or measured temperature greater than or equal to 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit, diarrhea, nausea/vomiting, known close contact with a person who is lab confirmed to have COVID-19.
  • Face coverings or masks are optional on the UNOH campus. This includes classrooms, shops, labs, and any indoor space where people gather (hallways, library, study tables, lounges, etc.).
  • Markings have been placed on the floors of all campus buildings to illustrate 3-6 feet of separation between students, faculty, and staff when in common areas such as hallways and near reception or service desks.
  • Students, Faculty, and Staff are expected to practice good hygiene to reduce the spread of Covid-19 such as washing hands every two hours, using hand sanitizer when soap and water are not available, regularly washing cloth face masks, covering coughs with an elbow, sleeve, or tissue, refrain from shaking hands and physical contact, and staying home or in a dorm room when feeling ill.
  • Commonly touched surfaces will be disinfected regularly by both employees and contracted cleaning staff.
  • Students will avoid sharing equipment and tools as much as possible. If it cannot be avoided, shared items will be sprayed or wiped down with disinfectant between uses.
  • Social events will be conducted following all current health and safety guidelines.
  • Access to the Indoor Athletic Complex and Racers Station is permitted. Guidelines on physical distancing and safety precautions are posted in those locations.
  • The UNOH Food Court, Racers Café, and Pit Stop are open and allow indoor dining.  All current guidelines issued by the Ohio Department of Health will be followed.
  • Regular communication will occur with all students, faculty, and staff about what to do if someone begins to show symptoms of COVID-19. Testing, if warranted, can be performed by local healthcare professionals.

Students, Staff or Faculty who are not following the University guidelines may be subject to disciplinary action.

Please watch your UNOH email and read posted signage around campus for any updates to these health and safety guidelines.
