Small Business Training Courses

The University of Northwestern Ohio is offering short-term Small Business Training Courses designed with the working professional in mind.

• Own a small business on the side and trying to make it a full-time career?

• Are you in line to take over your family business?

• Are you a budding entrepreneur wondering where to start?

Courses are just one night per week for three weeks! Courses include:
Using Excel to Organize your Business

Learn the fundamentals of Microsoft Excel and how to use this powerful tool to organize various aspects of a small business. You will earn how to navigate Excel, use formulas, and build basic business documents to get your organization operating efficiently.

Meeting Dates: February 5, February 12, and February 19 from 6:00pm – 8:30pm

Cost: $149



Learn how to design a successful marketing strategy for your small business with a specific focus on social media and digital marketing. You will leave this course with the framework for reaching your target audience through modern marketing platforms.

Meeting Dates: March 4, March 11, and March 18 from 6:00pm – 8:30pm

Developing an Employee Handbook

An employee handbook sets the expectation for employees in your business, and helps protect your business if disputes arise. In this course, you will develop an employee handbook specific to your business.

Meeting Dates: April 1, April 8, and April 15 from 6:00pm – 8:30pm

Cost: $149


For each course completed, you’ll receive a scholarship to use toward an associate or bachelor degree at UNOH should you wish to continue your studies.
