(Note: The Renewal FAFSA can be completed on the website, http://www.fafsa.gov/ with your and your parent's PIN number, which can be obtained at: http://www.pin.ed.gov/.)

December 2012

  • Plan to submit your "Renewal" FAFSA and obtain your PIN number(s) - file after January 1, 2013
  • Obtain PIN number from the website: http://www.pin.ed.gov/
  • Look for outside scholarships on UNOH Web site and other sources, and get ready to apply for them
  • Winter Quarter College of Business tuition & fees are due January 8, 2013
  • January Session College of Technology tuition & fees are due January 7, 2013
  • HO HO HO…Merry Christmas!

January 2013

  • Hope you have a Happy New Year!
  • Verify and note all financial aid deadlines
  • Request an IRS Federal Income Tax Transcript - both students and parents in case your application is selected for verification. This is not the tax return you filed, rather it is a tax return transcript that must be ordered from the IRS (not a tax account transcript).
  • February Session College of Technology tuition & fees are due February 19, 2013
  • Try to stay warm while watching the Super bowl

February 2013

  • Verify and note all financial aid deadlines
  • Complete and mail or transmit Renewal FASFA with actual 2012 data
  • Make copies of applications and tax transcripts - both students and parents
  • March Session College of Technology tuition & fees are due April 3, 2013
  • Send your valentine a card

March 2013

  • Be sure to meet all financial aid deadlines
  • Did you complete and transmit the Renewal FAFSA?
  • Review and respond to all aid notices received
  • Respond to any documentation requests
  • Spring Quarter College of Business tuition & fees are due April 8, 2013
  • Don't forget to wear GREEN

April 2013

  • If you're selected for verification (30% are automatically selected), add another 4 to 6 weeks to the process time
    NOTE: Awards cannot be processed until all verification forms are submitted and the process is completed
  • Respond to any documentation requests
  • Review and respond to all aid notices received
  • Check Mail & E-mail for SAR - Verify the accuracy of the information
  • Complete necessary Federal Direct Student, Federal Direct PLUS and/or private loan applications and submit them
  • May Session College of Technology tuition & fees are due May 13, 2013
  • Don't be fooled by the April fool - Stay on top of Financial Aid

May 2013

  • If you're selected for verification (30% are automatically selected), add another 4 to 6 weeks to the process time

  • New students to the University of Northwestern Ohio should be sure to have their official High School transcript sent to the university by their High School counselor.
  • Respond to any documentation requests

  • Make sure appropriate Student/Parent Loan Application(s) - have been submitted
  • Check Mail & E-mail for SAR - Verify the accuracy of the information
  • June Session College of Technology tuition & fees are due July 1, 2013
  • Attend Graduation

  • Check Mail & E-mail for SAR - Verify the accuracy of the information
  • Did you submit appropriate Student/Parent Loan Application(s) with your Award Notice?
  • Contact lender to find out if Student/Parent Loan(s) are ready for disbursement
  • If you've not filed the Renewal FAFSA by now you are really getting late
  • August Session College of Technology tuition & fees are due August 26, 2013
  • Celebrate the 4th of July!

August 2013

  • Contact Federal Direct Student/Direct PLUS and Private lender for disbursement date
  • If FAFSA is not received by now you had better contact the Cashier's Office!
  • Check Mail & E-mail for SAR - Verify the accuracy of the information
  • Did you submit appropriate Student/Parent Loan Application(s) with your Award Notice?
  • Go ahead and attend the local County Fairs

September 2013

  • Don't forget to clean your room in case your parents visit
  • Contact Federal Direct Student/Direct PLUS and Private lender for disbursement date
  • If FAFSA is not received by now you had better contact the Cashier's Office, too!
