The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the American College Health Association (ACHA) have approved new recommendations that urge all first-year students living in residence halls to be immunized against meningococcal disease. The CDC and ACHA recommendations further state that other college students under 25 years of age who wish to reduce their risk for the disease may choose to be vaccinated.
The University of Northwestern Ohio recommends that students and their parents discuss the benefits of any vaccinations and immunizations with their health care provider.
The State of Ohio has issued a requirement that all educational institutions survey their student body to see if the students have been immunized for meningitis. It is required by the State of Ohio that you complete the answers on the below form and return it to the Housing Department.
