The HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration) field is dynamic and growing, and the increasing sophistication of systems has resulted in employers requiring job candidates to have formal training and certification. The UNOH College of Technologies' HVAC/R Department prepares students for an entry-level job in the challenging HVAC/R field. |

In the UNOH College of Technologies' HVAC/R Department, students are trained in the many different aspects of the HVAC field while utilizing the latest technology in furnaces, air conditioners, and commercial refrigeration units. Most of the training in the HVAC program is hands-on, from both training aids and our Simutech computer-generated simulation programs. Curriculum includes courses in the following areas: |

- Applications of refrigeration and temperature controls

For many years the University's HVAC program has been fully accredited by PAHRA; The Partners for Air Conditioning, Heating, Refrigeration Accreditation. In addition to earning diploma or associate degrees in HVAC/R Technology, students can gain certifications in section 608 and 609 of the EPA Refrigerant Handling Requirements. Industry competency exams of the Air Conditioning Refrigeration Institute are also available. This gives our graduates the certifications employers are looking for. |
