Cassie Simonton |
| |
Cassandra Simonton has been racing dragsters since the tender young age of eight. And, she's still racing every chance she gets. Cassie's attending The University of Northwestern Ohio's High Performance Motorsports program and will graduate next March. Her dream is to drive a top fuel dragster in the Pro Category.
She is now running in Top Dragster class (rail), which runs at Divisionals in the NHRA. To date she has run three races, and now is seventh in points in the division out of 150 racers. "I either drive back to Minneapolis to meet up with Dad and the team on race weekends, or sometimes I just drive straight to the track and meet them there," says Cassie. "I took automotive courses in High School, and when I started looking at High Performance schools, The University of Northwestern Ohio was my first choice. The education I've received here has helped me out a lot, especially the engine fuels, working with dynos, and the transmission settings. My goal after I graduate is to get a job on a crew, and work my way up to driver. I want to drive a Top Fuel in the Pro Category. It's the highest you can go."
