Information Technology

The explosion of computer use has created a high demand for trained specialists who have the education to administer, maintain, and support computer systems and networks. Whether you are creative or analytical, the Information Technology degrees in MCSA/MCSE, Network Security, Computer Forensics, and Digital Multimedia Design at the University of Northwestern Ohio will prepare you for a career in this ever-evolving industry.

Information Technology

Our new Computer Forensics program allows students to gain real world experience extracting data from digital media, using software such as DriveSpy, Encase, and FTK Forensic IM Extractor. Students prepare case files for criminal incidents involving computers and learn proper documentation methods regarding extracted data case files. Upon graduation, students are prepared for such occupations as:

  • Crime Scene Investigator
  • Police Detective
  • Digital Recovery Analyst
  • Corporate Data Analyst

Our Network Security program provides you with all the skills necessary to be a company's first line of defense against computer network threats to information security. We offer courses in computer forensics, data recovery, counter-intelligence, and information security, using the latest advancements in software and hardware. Students use industry software like Snap Back, Zero, Go Back, and Drive Spy. Upon graduation, students are prepared for such occupations as:

  • Network Engineer
  • Network Security Officer
  • Network Administrator

In our Digital Multimedia program, students learn how to integrate all of the creative elements of digital design through the use of the latest technology, software and hardware. This curriculum teaches XHTML, LINUX, ADOBE Photoshop and Illustrator, Macromedia Flash and Director, Quark Express, and Lightwave 3D. The skills you learn in our Digital Multimedia Design program will enable you to get a job as a:

  • Creative Director
  • Multimedia Designer
  • Animator
  • Video Producer

We're also proud to be a Microsoft IT Academy, allowing us to provide our students with the latest upgrades in software and technology, like Microsoft's Vista Operating System. Our MCSA/MCSE program prepares students for the MCSE tests to gain certification important in jobs such as:

  • Network Administrator
  • Network Analyst
  • Network Associate
