In today's workplace, the reliance on advanced technology continues to increase, causing the role of the office professional to greatly expand. Employers are seeking trained personnel with college degrees to fill their staff positions. The University of Northwestern Ohio's Office Technology Department has been setting the standard for education since 1920, offering associate degree programs in Office Management and Administrative Support/Word Processing.

Our Office Technology programs are unique because half of the curriculum is devoted to understanding software applications, which maximize efficiency and productivity.

Our curriculum prepares students for the following duties and roles:

  • acting as an information and communication manager
  • planning and scheduling meetings and appointments
  • organizing and maintaining paper and electronic files
  • managing projects
  • conducting research
  • disseminating information
  • using computer skills
